Shiatsu Treatment
Shiatsu massage is given in the traditional style, on a futon placed on the floor.
Shiatsu, unlike many other common types of massage, is given while the receiver is fully clothed. Please wear or bring loose, comfortable cotton or wool clothing such as:

T-shirts or sweatshirts
| sweatpants or leggings
| workout wear |
Please Avoid wearing:
|
jeans or pants made with thick material or thick seams
| dresses or skirts
| clothing with lots of buttons |
Shiatsu is a full body, clothed massage which may include (but is not limited to):
|
arms and hands
| legs and feet
| stomach ("hara") so please eat lightly
| back of neck (please keep jewelry to a minimum)
| face (little to no make-up is preferred)
| scalp |

Since a Shiatsu massage will not only increase the flow of Chi (Ki) in the body, but
also increase blood circulation, please take the following precautions before
your massage.
Do not receive Shiatsu if you:
|
have used recreational drugs or alcohol within 12 hours of your appointment
| are overly fatigued
| have eaten a full meal within 1 hours of your appointment
| have just exercised (including dancing/performing) or will exercise soon after receiving Shiatsu. |
Please wait to exercise for at least 30 minutes before/after
your massage.
